North Museum of Nature and science
Lancaster, Pennsylvania is well known for its beautiful farmlands and Amish quaintness. However few people know that they can see dinosaurs up close and personal right here in Lancaster. Located on the campus of Franklin and Marshall College, the most recent display at the North Gallery includes a thorough look at T. Rex and its fellow dinosaurs as they really lived, the chance to view other types of ancient life, and get hands-on with real fossils. This new exhibit is sure to please dinosaur fans young and old. The North Museum is the first museum on the planet to have a 41 foot Spitz cove-mounted SciDome XD Touch system. With the SciDome XD Touch system, instructors can peak your interest and provide an individualized, interactive and completely immersive introduction to astronomy, earth sciences, or weather forecasting, using unbelievable imagery and animations.
The North Shop.
Treat your internal scientist to a gift or keepsake from the Gallery store, the North Shop. From crystal growing packages to rocks, fossils and minerals, to genuine scaled replicas of the Carnegie Gallery dinosaur collection, there’s something for every single junior scientist. Participants receive a 10% discount rate off acquisitions at The North Shop.
Hours and Admission.
The Gallery is open Monday thru Saturday 10 am to 5 pm and also Sunday twelve noon to 5 pm. Group trips are available weekdays; advanced registration is required.
